Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia İmamura Akira
On July 27, 2022, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Georgia Imamura Akira.
Welcoming the guest sincerely, Ambassador F. Guliyev expressed satisfaction regarding the new meeting with his Japanese counterpart. Focusing on the processes taking place in the region during the last period, he talked about the possibilities of economic cooperation. The Ambassador gave information about the energy and infrastructure projects implemented with the participation of Azerbaijan and described their contribution to the development of the region.
For his part, Ambassador I.Akira stressed that the developing relations between Japan and Azerbaijan serve the interests of both peoples and the progress of the region in general. He underlined the important role of the South Caucasus in the East-West Transport Corridor and reaffirmed Japan's interest in taking advantage of these opportunities.
In this regard, both interlocutors expressed confidence that the new realities created in the region could give a new impetus to this cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their intention to continue productive contacts in the future.
