Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev received Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia Alexander Vinnikov
On July 28, 2022, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev received Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Georgia Alexander Vinnikov.
Welcoming the guest, Ambassador F.Guliyev stressed that Azerbaijan's relations with NATO have been successfully developed since the time of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He said that Azerbaijan's cooperation with the North Atlantic Alliance contributes to regional and global security. Focusing on the recent processes in the region, the Ambassador talked about the possibilities of the post-conflict situation in the region and briefed about the steps taken by Azerbaijan in this direction.
The Head of the Liaison Office, A. Vinnikov, emphasized that the periodic contacts of the Secretary General of NATO with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan play an important role. He recalled with pleasure that the last visit of Javier Colomina, NATO Secretary General’s special representative for the Caucasus and Central Asia, to the region was successful. A.Vinnikov said that the developments taking place in the region are carefully monitored by NATO and the reconciliation processes in the post-conflict period are supported.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope that productive contacts will be continued in the future.
