Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Georgia Riina Kaljurand
On February 15, 2021, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Georgia Riina Kaljurand.
Welcoming the guest, Ambassador F.Guliyev wished his Estonian counterpart success in her mission in Georgia. He noted in detail that the Azerbaijan-Georgia strategic partnership serves the well-being of both peoples and is a key driver of sustainable development in the entire South Caucasus region. The recent commissioning of the Southern Gas Corridor has been appreciated as another important contribution to Europe's energy security.
At the same time, referring to the military and political security situation in the region, Ambassador F.Guliyev gave detailed information about the aggression against Azerbaijan, which has lasted for about 30 years, and the international documents adopted in connection with it, but remained not implemented for decades. Speaking about the causes and essence of the 44-day Patriotic War, he said that ending the occupation of our lands and restoring our territorial integrity would bring positive changes not only for Azerbaijan but for the region as a whole.
During the meeting, Ms. Kaljurand noted that her country pays attention to the development of relations with the countries of the South Caucasus. According to her, the processes taking place in the region and the new situation are being closely monitored by Estonia, and her country intends to further develop the regional cooperation.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed hope for fruitful contacts in the future.
