Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev received the Head of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, Ruslan Abashidze
On November 11, 2020, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev received the Head of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, Ruslan Abashidze.
Welcoming the guest, the Ambassador drew the attention to the fact that the meeting takes place on historic days marked with deep symbolism. He said that putting the end to the aggression, to the occupation of our lands lasted for about 30 years; the restoration of the country’s territorial integrity will bring positive changes not only for Azerbaijan but for the whole region.
In this regard, it was noted that successfully developing mutually beneficial relations between Azerbaijan and Georgia play an important role in terms of stability, security and comprehensive development of the entire South Caucasus region. Mutual support for each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity and solidarity at the international level were also highlighted as important factors.
The Head of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, Georgia, R. Abashidze, congratulated Azerbaijan on its recent historic victory in restoring its territorial integrity. Giving information about the situation of IDPs from the region of Abkhazia and the current situation around the conflict, Mr. Abashidze shaped general points regarding the work done in this direction. He also stressed the importance of the established format of cooperation between Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that fruitful contacts will continue in the future.
