The Ambassador F.Guliyev met with our Paralympians, winners of the World Cup

Each of the five athletes representing Azerbaijan at the international sports event won a medal. Elshan Huseynov (107 kg) won gold, Shamo Aslanov (over 107 kg) won gold, Leyla Karimova (86 kg) won 1 gold and 1 bronze, Parvin Mammadov (49 kg) won silver and Nurlan Babajanov (97 kg) won bronze.
Ambassador met with powerlifters and congratulated them on their successful results. He stressed that the athletes deservedly represented Azerbaijan at the World Cup. The Ambassador got acquainted with the members of the team and was interested in their impressions of the competition.
He noted that Azerbaijan's victory in the 44-day Patriotic War gives additional strength to our athletes to perform successfully in the international arena with high spirits and wished the athletes success and new victories in future competitions.
Chief specialist of the Sports Department of the Azerbaijan National Paralympic Committee Rufat Rahimov, team captain E.Huseynov and members expressed their determination to achieve greater success in future competitions.
The athletes then visited the Museum of Azerbaijani Culture named after Mirza Fatali Akhundzade.
It should be noted that Rahimov is the first Azerbaijani to win a judge's license in para powerlifting. He refereed the World Cup in Tbilisi for the first time.
