Ashig Kamandar's House Museum is expected to open after renovation

Ashig Kamandar Efendiyev was one of the leading artists of Azerbaijani ozan-ashug art. The famous master has rendered unparalleled services in the enrichment and development of this timeless art. Ashig Kamandar, a pupil of the Borchali Ashug School, was awarded the honorary title of "Honored Cultural Worker of Azerbaijan" (1984) and the Order of Honor (1999), the highest award of Georgia.
In 2012, the 80th anniversary of the artist was celebrated at the state level in both Tbilisi and Baku. In the same year, the House Museum of Ashig Kamandar was established and in 2013 a bust was erected there. The Ashig Kamandar House Museum, officially registered in Georgia, was recently renovated by the Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) in accordance with world museum standards. The repair work is being carried out by experienced specialists on the restoration and construction of museums in Georgia under the leadership of TIKA's Georgian coordinator Necla Demirdag. The consultant for the renovation of the Ashig House Museum is a folklorist, Professor Mahmud Kamaloglu.
On December 24, 2020, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Georgia Fatma Ceren Yazgan visited Kapanakchi village of Marneuli region to get acquainted with the museum's renovation. Diplomats of the two brotherly countries exchanged views on the history of the art of ozan-ashug, which belongs to the Turkic peoples, and the impact of this art on other peoples in the region. The diplomats gave their advice and recommendations on the museum and stressed that they would continue to support the activities of such cultural centers in the region.
It should be noted that the renovation of the Ashig Kamandar House Museum is nearing completion, and in the first months of 2021, this cultural center is expected to be open to visitors.
